HOME COUNTIES PREMIER LEAGUE DIVISION TWO Datchet 138ao Gerrards Cross 141-3 Gerrards Cross won by seven wickets A SUPERB spell of seam bowling from Richard Knudsen and half centuries from AJ Woodland and James Crosthwaite ensured a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Datchet for Gerrards Cross on Saturday.
After being asked to bat, Datchet raced out of the blocks, reaching 84-1 after 15 overs before rain brought a halt to proceedings.
On resumption, Knudsen extracted some extra bounce and decimated the Datchet batting, taking 6-30 in 12.4 overs, while Joe Bracey provided excellent support, taking 3-33 as Datchet collapsed to 138 all out.
Woodland and Crosthwaite then shared a 90-run stand in 15 overs, which ended Datchet’s hopes of victory.
Crosthwaite scored 71 off 48 balls, with 10 fours and three sixes, while Woodland finished unbeaten on 54 off 68 balls, with eight fours, as the Cross cruised to victory with 37 overs to spare.
However, they will be expecting a tougher match this weekend when they travel to league leaders Great & Little Tew.
