Church helps launch vil­lage’s sum­mer fair

A CHURCH is pre­par­ing to roll up its sleeves and lend a hand in get­ting in­volved in a huge sum­mer fair which takes place next week.

St James Church, Ger­rards Cross, is plan­ning three ac­tiv­i­ties at the Ger­rards Cross Sum­mer Fair, which takes place on Wed­nes­day next week.

First up is the Ac­cord Com­mu­nity Choir, a choir with mem­bers from St James which will be singing out­side Tesco from 6.45pm to 7.45pm.

Along with this, a team of vol­un­teers from St James will pro­vide chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties from 5pm to 8pm in Sta­tion Road, de­signed to give lo­cal chil­dren up to the age of 11 a chal­lenge and some fun.

For pre-school chil­dren there will be bis­cuit dec­o­rat­ing and older chil­dren can take part in tack­ling a co­conut shy with a dif­fer­ence.

Rock band, SJ and the Lif­ers, will be per­form­ing a num­ber of sec­u­lar and Chris­tian rock songs in Fego’s from 6pm to 7.30pm.

They will be pro­vid­ing free air gui­tars.
