Golf-a-thon brings in charity funds
PLENTY of birdies and a couple of eagles – no, this isn’t about a zoo but four men playing more than 15 hours of golf for charity.
Paul Freeman, Liam Cross, Kevin Woodley and Tim Talbot, from Chalfont St Giles, raised more than £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support after teeing off at 4am on Sunday (June 21) before playing their last hole at 9pm.
Mr Freeman said: “Liam, Kevin and Tim were all great company and we helped each other though the last round when the tiredness and aching joints were starting to get to us”
He added: “An extra congratulations to Tim who’s wife Amy gave birth to a beautiful baby girl only a few days before the challenge and I know it was hard for him to be away from them both for the whole day.”
