Gun­men swoop in 4am house raid

Woman’s home tar­geted by in­trud­ers who threaten with weapon in bid to steal valu­ables

ARMED raiders burst into a woman’s house at 4am and forced her to hand over valu­ables at gun­point.

In­trud­ers used a steplad­der to climb onto the roof of a house in Dukes Kiln Drive, Ger­rards Cross, and en­tered through an up­stairs win­dow on Thurs­day, June 18.

The thieves con­fronted one woman and threat­ened another with what po­lice be­lieve to be a gun and forced her to hand over her jew­ellery and cash. Af­ter they ran off the women called the po­lice and am­bu­lance and were treated at the scene for mi­nor in­juries. The po­lice are now ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses fol­low­ing the ag­gra­vated bur­glary.

Kelly Glis­ter, the of­fi­cer in charge of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion, said: “This was a fright­en­ing in­ci­dent, which has un­der­stand­ably left the two vic­tims very shaken and we are do­ing all we can to sup­port them.

“We are ap­peal­ing for any­one who may have seen any­thing re­gard­ing this in­ci­dent in the early hours of this morn­ing to get in touch with the po­lice as a mat­ter of ur­gency.”

Chief Insp Sarah Gra­hame, deputy lo­cal polic­ing area com­man­der for Chiltern and South Bucks, said: “While this is a shock­ing crime, it is also an ex­tremely rare one for the area. We would like to re­as­sure lo­cal peo­ple that we are do­ing all we can to catch those re­spon­si­ble.

“There are ex­tra of­fi­cers on pa­trol in the area and we would urge any­one who has any con­cerns to speak to them or call us on 101.”
