Gunmen swoop in 4am house raid
Woman’s home targeted by intruders who threaten with weapon in bid to steal valuables
ARMED raiders burst into a woman’s house at 4am and forced her to hand over valuables at gunpoint.
Intruders used a stepladder to climb onto the roof of a house in Dukes Kiln Drive, Gerrards Cross, and entered through an upstairs window on Thursday, June 18.
The thieves confronted one woman and threatened another with what police believe to be a gun and forced her to hand over her jewellery and cash. After they ran off the women called the police and ambulance and were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The police are now appealing for witnesses following the aggravated burglary.
Det Ch Insp
Kelly Glister, the officer in charge of the investigation, said: “This was a frightening incident, which has understandably left the two victims very shaken and we are doing all we can to support them.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything regarding this incident in the early hours of this morning to get in touch with the police as a matter of urgency.”
Chief Insp Sarah Grahame, deputy local policing area commander for Chiltern and South Bucks, said: “While this is a shocking crime, it is also an extremely rare one for the area. We would like to reassure local people that we are doing all we can to catch those responsible.
“There are extra officers on patrol in the area and we would urge anyone who has any concerns to speak to them or call us on 101.”
