A BUSINESS owner was awarded with a lifetime achievement award on June 16 for his work in helping to find jobs for prison leavers.

Mick May, who is the founder of Denham based Blue Sky, received the award at the Employment Related Services Association (ERSA) Employability Awards.

Social enterprise Blue Sky only employs and trains ex-offenders, to rehabilitate them and help them find work.

The awards are now in their third year and champion the people and organisations who help people gain employment.

The lifetime achievement award recognises individuals who have made a notable impact on the employment related services sector.

Mr May said: “I am extremely grateful to Serco and ERSA for this award.

“It is a fitting tribute to the work of Blue Sky over the past 10 years, a relatively small social enterprise that has truly punched above its weight.”
