Brewing up community spirit
Costa Coffee opens soon in Great Missenden A COFFEE shop chain that received a mixed reaction from villagers is bringing four full time and two part time jobs to the village.
Costa got permission from Chiltern District Council last month to open the new store in High Street, Great Missenden.
Bryony Milne is the newly-appointed manager for Great Missenden Costa and has worked for the company for six years.
She said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming new staff on board, serving the local community and making a positive contribution to the village.”
The store hopes to work closely with local charities and is set to announce its chosen charity partner this week.
As well as providing a total of 10 jobs, Costa says its opening will deliver £275,000 in investment for the area.
However, not everyone is happy. Campaigner Andy Tyler set-up a petition titled Great Missenden Against Costa, which has attracted more than 400 signatures, to stop the coffee shop moving into the former site of restaurant Chinese Cuisine.
