THAMES VALLEY CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION 3B Chenies & Latimer Amersham IIs 142 all out
143-6 LEAGUE leaders Chenies & Latimer suffered only their second defeat of the season on Saturday when they went down to Amersham seconds by four wickets.
Amersham shared the wickets around as Chenies were bowled out for 142, with Duncan Ward (3-48), Haseeb Ali (3-25) and David Atkinson (3-33) claiming three scalps each.
Amersham then lost both openers cheaply in reply, but an unbeaten 55 from Vimal Rajasekaran, batting at number six, helped see them home, despite a late flurry of wickets for Scott Norwood, who took 3-48 in 9.3 overs.
Chenies stayed top of the table, despite the defeat, but their lead over Reading seconds was reduced to just three points, with Sonning just a further point behind.
Meanwhile, in Division 4a, Chalfont St Peter probably through they were on their way to only a second win of the season when Sanjay Sharma’s half-century helped them rack up 231-8.
However, opponents Princes Risborough, the only side below them in the table, were having none of it and cruised to a seven-wicket victory inside 40 overs, closing the gap on Chalfont to just six points.
