THAMES VAL­LEY CRICKET LEAGUE DI­VI­SION 3B Che­nies & La­timer Amer­sham IIs 142 all out

143-6 LEAGUE lead­ers Che­nies & La­timer suf­fered only their sec­ond de­feat of the sea­son on Satur­day when they went down to Amer­sham sec­onds by four wick­ets.

Amer­sham shared the wick­ets around as Che­nies were bowled out for 142, with Dun­can Ward (3-48), Haseeb Ali (3-25) and David Atkin­son (3-33) claim­ing three scalps each.

Amer­sham then lost both openers cheaply in re­ply, but an un­beaten 55 from Vi­mal Ra­jasekaran, bat­ting at num­ber six, helped see them home, de­spite a late flurry of wick­ets for Scott Nor­wood, who took 3-48 in 9.3 overs.

Che­nies stayed top of the ta­ble, de­spite the de­feat, but their lead over Read­ing sec­onds was re­duced to just three points, with Son­ning just a fur­ther point be­hind.

Mean­while, in Di­vi­sion 4a, Chal­font St Peter prob­a­bly through they were on their way to only a sec­ond win of the sea­son when San­jay Sharma’s half-cen­tury helped them rack up 231-8.

How­ever, op­po­nents Princes Ris­bor­ough, the only side be­low them in the ta­ble, were hav­ing none of it and cruised to a seven-wicket vic­tory in­side 40 overs, clos­ing the gap on Chal­font to just six points.
