Nettleton stings rivals

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SPORT -

RON Nettleton was on song for Chessvale Bowls Club this week – featuring in the highest winning rinks in wins over Bassetsbury and Wendover.

Against Bassetsbury in the Three Counties League, Nettleton shone brightest, along with Chris Wellsted, Shelia Clarke and Pete West as Chessvale comfortably won 135-65, while against Wendover, he again took honours along with Malcolm Andrews, Dorothy Morgan and Ken Woodward as Chessvale won the friendly 70-37.

The visit of Wendover was, in fact, a dual match, with Chessvale also winning a Three Counties match by two rinks to one.

However, a highest winning rink from Paul Westbrook, Margaret Baker and Will Gehrig was not enough to prevent a 93-66 defeat to Kitcheners, while Chessvale duo Barry Redding and Pete Stafford lost their EBA pairs match at Broadway.
