HISTORY: Mar­garet Deakin be­fore her il­lus­trated talk about Cuba, with Eileen Turn­ham A VIL­LAGE group found out about the history of Cuba at a re­cent talk.

Mar­garet Deakin spoke to the Chal­font St Peter Ladies Group on the sub­ject at a meet­ing on Wed­nes­day, June 26. Eileen Turn­ham, a mem­ber of the group, said: “It was very in­ter­est­ing. Mar­garet has spo­ken to us sev­eral times be­fore and she is very knowl­edge­able and knows how to bring a sub­ject to life.

“She told us all about Cuba, and what life has been like there for peo­ple un­der Cas­tro for the last 50 years.

“We all en­joyed it very much and we hope to hear from her again.” CHAL­FONT ST GILES: The Wheel­house dog train­ing school, Lon­don Road, have new class pro­grammes avail­able.

Pup­pies aged three to eight months can at­tend an in­tro­duc­tory course. GER­RARDS CROSS: Lovers of clas­sic cars and mo­tor­bikes should head to the vil­lage in Au­gust.
