Award win­ning cho­co­late is a treat

A BUCKS based fam­ily choco­latier has scooped two awards at a pres­ti­gious awards.

Cho­co­late and ice cream maker Au­berge du Cho­co­lat, which has a work­shop and shop in Chess Busi­ness Park, Moor Road, Che­sham, and a shop in Pack­horse Road, Ger­rards Cross, has been awarded two sil­ver awards in the 2015 Academy of Cho­co­late awards with its Man­hat­tan cho­co­late and Moroccan mint cho­co­late.

For the com­pe­ti­tion, Au­berge cre­ated two new choco­lates with an in­ter­na­tional flavour. Man­hat­tan brings a vi­brant USA ap­proach in­clud­ing a Bour­bon whisky, while the Moroccan mint cho­co­late is ‘like a cool breeze in the desert’ us­ing fresh mint in the ganache.

Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor Ian Scott said: “We were pleased to have re­ceived another two Academy of Cho­co­late Awards. The com­pe­ti­tion at­tracts many of the world’s top choco­latiers and only oc­curs ev­ery two years.

The store also held a Fa­ther’s Day spe­cial re­cently, by of­fer­ing chil­dren the chance to make their dad a cho­co­late gift.

Shop as­sis­tant Joanna An­der­son said: “The chil­dren had a won­der­ful time. They all went run­ning out of the shop very proudly.” She added: “See­ing them just cov­ered in cho­co­late was just very spe­cial.” Mrs An­der­son sin­gled out her “week­end girls”, Bella, Sa­man­tha and Ni­cole for spe­cial praise as “they are the ones that all the chil­dren will be ask­ing for”.
