Budding journalist JAMES LEWIS, 12, from Great Missenden won the search for the UK’s best young reporter and recently attended the Third International Children’s Football For Friendship Forum in Berlin with the UK Southfields Academy girls team, selected

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SCHOOL REPORT -

IWAS lucky enough to be chosen to attend the Gazprom Football For Friendship forum as the UK’s young journalist in Berlin. I was joined by the team representing the UK, an all-girls team selected by Chelsea.

Football For Friendship aims to change the world through a greater understanding between young people from different countries. Through the success of this tournament, I think this might happen.

The team was drawn against Switzerland, represented by FC Zurich, and Ukraine, represented by Volyn. In their first game, against FC Zurich, the team played well against a squad who would eventually be in the final. In the game against Volyn, the girls picked the pace up and scored some amazing goals.

I attended the forum’s press conference, where journalists asked the global ambassador, German footballing legend Franz

The an incredible experience. final game of the I really enjoyed tournament took place, Football For Friendship, where FC Rapid from especially being a sports Austria won. It was an reporter! exciting and tense game.
