Me­dieval history will be com­ing to life

MAK­ING A POINT:

Me­dieval knights are on their way to the Chiltern Open Air Mu­seum VISI­TORS to a mu­seum will take a step back in time to the days of knights in ar­mour and joust­ing later this month.

The Chiltern Open Air Mu­seum will be host­ing the Me­dieval Pageantry event, with ac­tors from the Liv­ing History group com­ing along to bring the day to life.

Peo­ple will be able to visit a me­dieval en­camp­ment, meet the ac­tors and learn about life in Eng­land dur­ing the Mid­dle Ages.

There will also be a chance to try on a knight’s hel­met and to feel the weight of a broadsword which would have been used for fight­ing.

Young­sters will have the chance to try out some Me­dieval games, make their own brass rub­bings and try out some me­dieval dances.

A Me­dieval tour­na­ment will go ahead, with crowds cheer­ing for knights in ar­mour tak­ing to the field to do bat­tle.

The event goes ahead at the Mu­seum in Chal­font St Giles on Satur­day, July 25 and Sun­day, July 26.
