Ladies’ triple victory

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - SPORT -

CHESHAM United Ladies kicked off their summer league campaign with victories for all three of their teams taking part.

Dawne Campbell led Chesham Whites to a 1-0 victory over Marlow, her team including some former Chesham players, and it was Nat Adams who wriggled down the line to cut back for Charli Casey to grab the winner in what was an intense physical battle. There was also only a single goal in it as Chesham Blues edged out Wycombe Wanderers, with captain Chantelle O’Grady tapping in the winner with just minutes left on the clock.

It was a far more comprehensive win for U18s, who saw off Flackwell Heath Ladies 5-1, captain Sarah Hazell and Sarah Jackson grabbing a couple each, while Ami Batkin also netted.

Meanwhile, following the success of the England Ladies football team, Chesham United Girls are keen to recruit new players in school years 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.

They are currently running free taster sessions on Saturday mornings at Chesham United FC (U10s 9.45-10.45 and U13s 10.4511.45). Contact or call Lisa on 07958 342 693 for more details.
