Saints’ dramatic u-turn
CHALFONT ST PETER BC
CHALFONT St Peter Bowls Club staged a dramatic comeback to beat Amersham 107-87 in last week’s Three Counties League clash.
At one stage, Amersham had won two rinks to Chalfont’s one and were ahead on the last end of the other two, but Mike Alderton’s team scored a four to overturn their deficit, while Tim Baldwin’s team scored a three to do the same on the last game. All of which meant Chalfont came out on top on three rinks to Amersham’s two.
The ladies continued the winning theme by beating Wexham both home and away in the Vi Trundell for an overall 43-29 victory, but then went down narrowly 24-22 to Gerrards Cross in the Burnham Plate.
Saturday’s friendly against Windsor & Eton saw honours shared with three rinks each, but Windsor taking the game 99-94, while Sunday’s friendly at Rickmansworth RBL saw another narrow loss 63-61.
