STAR QUALITY: dinner TWO television stars went to a golf club’s charity dinner to help raise as much money as possible for a good cause.

Beaconsfield Golf Club hosted the event on July 2 in aid of Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.

Great British Bake Off host Mary Berry and TV weatherman Bill Giles went along to give the event a boost.

Ladies’ captain Sue

Bill Giles, Sue Lynch and Mary Berry at the Beaconsfield Golf Club charity Lynch said: “It was a fantastic evening attended by 120 ladies who enjoyed every minute. Bill Giles, of weather presenting fame and patron of the charity, was the only gentleman in attendance but didn’t seem to mind a bit and hosted an excellent question-and-answer session with Mary.

“There was a wonderful portfolio of auction lots and raffle prizes, generously donated by many local businesses and individuals, including the young awardwinning textile designer Emma J Shipley, who gave Mary one of her silk scarf creations.

“Mary is a wonderful role model as she works so hard, yet always finds time for the local community. We thank Mary and Bill so much for their amazing support.”
