Game, set and match for pupils

CHIL­DREN at Chal­font St Peter Montes­sori took part in a week long Sports Ac­tiv­ity last week, or­gan­ised by the school’s PTA.

Chil­dren got stuck into sports last week af­ter a lo­cal school took part in Sports Ac­tiv­ity week.

Or­gan­ised by the Chal­font St Peter Montes­sori School’s PTA, chil­dren had the op­por­tu­nity to try out a va­ri­ety of ac­tiv­i­ties.

Prin­ci­pal, Jac­que­line McCarthy, said: “Our sports week is an an­nual event and we are very grate­ful to the dif­fer­ent or­gan­i­sa­tions who once again came and ran ex­cel­lent ses­sions for the chil­dren, who thor­oughly en­joyed try­ing out dif­fer­ent sports.”

She added: “We all went on a jour­ney un­der the sea and to the zoo with Footie Bugs, whilst learn­ing new ball skills, pre­tended feath­ers were baby birds and threw them up in the air whilst danc­ing with Dinky Dancers, and imag­ined we were all Andy Mur­ray as we prac­tised over­hand throw­ing a ten­nis ball.

“Af­ter the ten­nis ses­sion the chil­dren were treated to a Wim­ble­don-style straw­ber­ries and cream treat”.

The week also co­in­cided with the school be­ing awarded a Highly Com­mended NHS Smile Award Plus ac­cred­i­ta­tion for all staff be­ing trained to pro­mote healthy eat­ing and oral hy­giene in the set­ting.
