Game, set and match for pupils
CHILDREN at Chalfont St Peter Montessori took part in a week long Sports Activity last week, organised by the school’s PTA.
Children got stuck into sports last week after a local school took part in Sports Activity week.
Organised by the Chalfont St Peter Montessori School’s PTA, children had the opportunity to try out a variety of activities.
Principal, Jacqueline McCarthy, said: “Our sports week is an annual event and we are very grateful to the different organisations who once again came and ran excellent sessions for the children, who thoroughly enjoyed trying out different sports.”
She added: “We all went on a journey under the sea and to the zoo with Footie Bugs, whilst learning new ball skills, pretended feathers were baby birds and threw them up in the air whilst dancing with Dinky Dancers, and imagined we were all Andy Murray as we practised overhand throwing a tennis ball.
“After the tennis session the children were treated to a Wimbledon-style strawberries and cream treat”.
The week also coincided with the school being awarded a Highly Commended NHS Smile Award Plus accreditation for all staff being trained to promote healthy eating and oral hygiene in the setting.
