Thanks to helpers on Forces Day

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - OPINION -

IT was a proud day on Saturday, June 27 when we honoured services families in Buckinghamshire with a great afternoon in the sun at Aylesbury Rugby Club.

My thanks for your superb supplement, providing full coverage and ably demonstrating how much people enjoyed themselves.

Buckinghamshire has a close relationship with our Armed Forces and it was our pleasure, as a county council, to host the event.

An event of this magnitude doesn’t just happen and although the expert organisation will have displayed swan-like characteristics, underneath I know there was a great deal of energetic paddling!

That was attributable entirely to the committed and enthusiastic input of the county council’s civic and ceremonial events team and scores of civilian and Forces volunteers, councillors, officers, sponsors, and highly-skilled display participants, on the ground and in the air. I was thrilled to see how well they came together to make such a fantastic afternoon. It is to them – and the Buckinghamshire public – I offer my sincere and grateful thanks.

BILL CHAPPLE OBE Chairman, Buckinghamshire

County Council and Buckinghamshire Armed Forces
