Any colour of smoothie – just as long as it is green
AN ENVIRONMENTAL group resorted to pedal power to make smoothies at Feast Day on Saturday.
People were able to have a go on Change4Chalfont’s bike powered smoothie maker and take part in a competitive energy bike.
The harder the energy bike was ridden the more lamps lit up, with a display showing how much energy was generated.
The winner was Paul Davidoff with 305 Watts with David Moffat finshing in second place.
Roland Collicott, otherwise known as the Bike Doctor, said: “Paul is a regular cyclist and uses his bike to get to the station every day, which rather proves our point that cycling is a great way to get around and keep fit, at the same time as making a difference to our environment by leaving the car at home, saving fuel and reducing CO2 emissions.”
PEDAL POWER: Change4Chalfont had a special stall at Feast Day on Saturday which harnessed pedal power to make smoothies and generate electricity
