CHE­SHAM Bowls Club duo Sue Faulks and Avril Harland will rep­re­sents Bucks in the Na­tional Cham­pi­onships at Leam­ing­ton af­ter win­ning through to the county fi­nals.

Harland reached the sin­gles fi­nal af­ter knock­ing out An­gela Atkin­son of Princes Ris­bor­ough 21-8 and Julie Sk­erry of Burn­ham 21-16, while 15-12 wins over both Gina Dod­ding­ton of Stoney Stratford and Mary Price of Burn­ham saw Faulks through to the two-wood sin­gles fi­nal.

In the men’s county com­pe­ti­tions, Nathan Har­vey came from be­hind to knock out his fa­ther Chris 21-20 and reach the quar­ter-fi­nals of the sin­gles, while two Che­sham triples are through to the quar­ters af­ter both beat­ing fel­low Che­sham trios.

Michael Nash, Brian Wright and Nathan Har­vey won 16-14 against Howard Cave, Ray Keen and Keith Pa­trick, while Roy Rodgers, Roger El­lis­ton and Chris Har­vey beat Ash­ley Ware, Diet Tow­nend and Frank McCart­ney 20-4.

In the Burn­ham Plate, Pam Hooper, He­len Fillery, Jackie Bate­man and Fay Holmes won to see off Broad­way 44-10, while there was a win on all four rinks as Bov­ing­don were downed 132-40 in a friendly, the best rink go­ing to Dave Hobbs, Tricia Par­sons, Fay Green and Ge­off Den­ham 37-4.

How­ever, a top rink of 26-12 from Brian Cox, Sylvia War­ring­ton, Jenny Ware and Tony Holt was not enough at Chess­vale, where Che­sham lost 128-72.
