AMER­SHAM Bowls Club ladies won both at home (26-14) and away (22-20) against Flack­well Heath in the Vi Trun­dell this week.

In the Burn­ham Plate, the ladies lost 19-16 at Chal­font St Giles away, but had al­ready won the ear­lier home leg by a re­sound­ing 10 shots, and won on all three rinks to beat Che­sham 62-30, with Pam Sawtell, May van Vu­uren and Pat Barnard bag­ging top rink, 23-8.

Flack­well Heath gained their re­venge for the Vi Trun­dell de­feat with a 97-76 win in the Three Coun­ties League match, where top rink for Amer­sham was Sheila Bar­ber, Ian Lee, May van Vu­uren and Howard Brown.

There was also a nar­row 72-65 friendly loss to Hemel Hemp­stead (top rink John Cul­ley, El­iz­a­beth Gil­lott and Ted Chouler­ton) and a 107-52 re­verse at Berkham­sted, where Amer­sham lost on all four rinks, with Cul­ley, Gayle Ber­ring­ton, Ray Cox and Anne Be­g­ley put up the stiffest re­sis­tance.
