YOUNG bud­ding per­form­ers can hone their tal­ents at a theatre’s pop­u­lar an­nual sum­mer work­shop this month. The El­giva’s an­nual Sum­mer Work­shop for eight to 18 year olds will run at the theatre in St Mary’s Way, Che­sham, from Mon­day, July 27 to Fri­day, July 31 from 10am to 4pm.

The young­sters will act and sing their way to­wards an orig­i­nal piece of theatre that they will per­form to an au­di­ence on the Fri­day.

This year’s week-long singing, danc­ing and act­ing ex­trav­a­ganza is ti­tled A Cel­e­bra­tion of An­i­ma­tion.

The work­shop is led by a pro­fes­sional team of West End per­form­ers and chore­og­ra­phers.

Man­ager Mark Barnes said: “The work­shop is about hav­ing fun, meet­ing new friends at the same time as learn­ing from a pro­fes­sional team of West End per­form­ers and chore­og­ra­phers in the safe sur­round­ings of a pro­fes­sional venue.

“Af­ter a fun-packed week and a lot of work and com­mit­ment the stu­dents will per­form a spe­cially writ­ten show and en­ter­tain par­ents and friends in what is al­ways a fab­u­lous at­mos­phere and be­cause The El­giva is a pro­fes­sional theatre, the in-house tech­ni­cal team use all their giz­mos and ef­fects to en­hance the look and sound of the pro­duc­tion. It re­ally is amaz­ing what these young peo­ple pro­duce af­ter only five days.” Tick­ets to the per­for­mance cost £4. The work­shop costs £110 per child and £100 for sib­lings.
