Church fete draws the crowds and the cash

A CHURCH fete proved as pop­u­lar as ever.

More than 100 peo­ple en­joyed the St Ge­orge’s Church, Tylers Hill in Che­sham an­nual gar­den fete on Sun­day, July 5 at The Hen & Chicken, Bot­ley Road.

Or­gan­iser and church war­den, Ge­off Tolcher, said: “This was a very suc­cess­ful com­mu­nity event, at a pop­u­lar lo­cal venue. In ad­di­tion, we raised money for the church. Next year’s fete will also be at The Hen. We look for­ward to folk join­ing us at fu­ture Sun­day morn­ing ser­vices, when they may learn about the other ac­tiv­i­ties we run.”

The event, which raised £1,222 for the church, fea­tured chil­dren’s ac­tiv­i­ties, face-paint­ing, a plant stall and a bric-a-brac sale.
