Get muddy and raise some money
PEOPLE are being encouraged to get muddy to raise money for a charity this year in a series of events.
Rennie Grove Hospice Care is organising its second annual Muddy Mucker series designed to raise as much money for the charity as possible.
It will start off with a five mile obstacle challenge at the Penn Estate on Sunday, September 27, with a second event scheduled to take place in Herts in April next year.
Last year’s inaugural event saw 600 people taking part, raising £35,000 in sponsorship.
Rennie Grove director of fundraising and marketing, Gillian Barnett, said; “Our first ever Muddy Mucker was well received but participants wanted more mud.
“This time we have plans in place to guarantee lots of mud, irrespective of what the weather does between now and September.
“It’s only possible to access Penn Estate’s beautiful grounds at an
MUCKING IN: A team from building firm Grant and Stone who are entering the Mucky Mudder. Left to right, Rory Walton, Darren House, Mark Eldridge and Chris Blackwood organised event, they aren’t open to the general public, so this is the perfect opportunity to do something different against a stunning backdrop and make a difference to local families facing life limiting illness.”
The route is a five mile loop and participants can decide on the day whether to complete one lap or two.
Entry is now open at www.renniegrove.org/ muddymucker or call 01442 820740 to register. The cost is £30 and is for over 16s only.
Participants are asked to raise at least £50 in sponsorship.
