Get muddy and raise some money

PEO­PLE are be­ing en­cour­aged to get muddy to raise money for a char­ity this year in a se­ries of events.

Ren­nie Grove Hos­pice Care is or­gan­is­ing its sec­ond an­nual Muddy Mucker se­ries de­signed to raise as much money for the char­ity as pos­si­ble.

It will start off with a five mile ob­sta­cle chal­lenge at the Penn Es­tate on Sun­day, Septem­ber 27, with a sec­ond event sched­uled to take place in Herts in April next year.

Last year’s inau­gu­ral event saw 600 peo­ple tak­ing part, rais­ing £35,000 in spon­sor­ship.

Ren­nie Grove di­rec­tor of fundrais­ing and mar­ket­ing, Gil­lian Bar­nett, said; “Our first ever Muddy Mucker was well re­ceived but par­tic­i­pants wanted more mud.

“This time we have plans in place to guar­an­tee lots of mud, ir­re­spec­tive of what the weather does be­tween now and Septem­ber.

“It’s only pos­si­ble to ac­cess Penn Es­tate’s beau­ti­ful grounds at an

The route is a five mile loop and par­tic­i­pants can de­cide on the day whether to com­plete one lap or two.

En­try is now open at­ mud­dy­mucker or call 01442 820740 to register. The cost is £30 and is for over 16s only.

Par­tic­i­pants are asked to raise at least £50 in spon­sor­ship.
