Cycle success for Paris bound students
TWO VILLAGERS raised more than four thousand pounds for a leading breast cancer charity by cycling 250 miles in three days.
George Holgate and Halisha Patel, from Chalfont St Giles, completed the London to Paris charity bike ride last week, for Breast Cancer Now, averaging over 80 miles a day.
Mr Holgate was partnered by Alex Green and were the only tandem team at the event. All three students had entered the challenge as part of a Loughborough University team.
They started their journey from Richmond Park, London, before going though the South Downs with a final hill challenge to Portsmouth, which was followed by an overnight ferry to Caen, France.
Day two was spent cycling through the small towns and villages of Barc and Parville before finishing for the day at Evreux.
