THAMES VALLEY CRICKET LEAGUE DIVISION 6A Chalfont St Peter CC IIs 127 all out Hayes IIs 129-3 Hayes won by seven wickets

JUSTIN Weller’s lone stand was not enough to save Chalfont St Peter seconds from a heavy defeat on Saturday.

Choosing to bat first, Chalfont collapsed to 33-4 before Weller and Asheen Rajpaksan staged a mini-recovery, but a second collapse of three wickets for one run saw Bertie Murphy as the only other player to reach double figures, and Weller was left high and dry on 77 not out. Weller also took a good catch in the field, while Ben Crossley and Sam Symons bowled well, but Hayes seconds cruised to a seven-wicket victory.

Symonds (58) and Crossley (29) performed well with the bat the following day, but it was not enough to prevent the Sunday seconds losing by seven wickets to Ivinghoe & Pitstone United.

The Saturday firsts lost by 36 runs to Datchet seconds in Thames Valley League Division 4a, while Chenies & Latimer beat Kew seconds by 81 runs in Division 3b, and Beaconsfield lost by four wickets to Wokingham in Division One.
