Lud­low took the hon­ours in the girls’ race, in 17.02

Team prizes went to Golden Girls and As­ton All Stars (11-12), Su­per Girls and Fast & Fury (910), and HAM (13-14 girls), with medals pre­sented to all fin­ish­ers and tro­phies, spon­sored by Dee Cy­cles of Amer­sham, go­ing to the top three fin­ish­ers in each race.

PODIUM FIN­ISH­ERS: Ed­ward Clifford, Chris­tian Grant and Jonny Mon­tero with Mayor of Che­sham, Cllr Peter Hud­son Supplied GER­RARDS Cross Bowls Club four Richard Reid, David Ross, Wayne Richard­son and David Simp­son have won through to the Bucks fi­nal of the English Bowls As­so­ci­a­tion com­pe­ti­tion.

Their suc­cess means they have also qual­i­fied for the na­tional fi­nals in Leam­ing­ton Spa, while Kirk Smith is one step away af­ter reach­ing the sin­gles semi­fi­nals af­ter a 21-13 win over Nathan Har­vey, of Che­sham.

The triples quar­ter-fi­nals saw Ross, Smith and Reid through, along with fel­low Ger­rards Cross triple Tom McGuin­ness, Michael Gomme and Ge­orge Reid, but Gomme and Ge­orge Reid were knocked out by Bletch­ley in their pairs quar­ter-fi­nal.

The Cross also ran out com­fort­able win­ners against West Wit­ney in the Na­tional Two Fours and now travel to Bletch­ley Town B in the last round of the re­gional di­vi­sion, while Wad­des­don were seen off by an 11-shot mar­gin in the Bucks Cup quar­ter-fi­nals.

The club’s un­beaten run in the Chiltern & Thames league con­tin­ued with an 8-2 win over Amer­sham (top rink David Hall, Mau­reen Merry and Ray Merry), while Fass­nidge were beaten 72-56 in a mixed friendly (top rink Shirley Mur­rell, Ed Poole and Kevin Dwyer).

The ladies lead their group in the Burn­ham Plate af­ter beat­ing Amer­sham 30-11 while in the Bucks League, Ger­rards Cross Swans beat Rich­ings Park 14-12 to go top of their di­vi­sion, while the Era­sures won the last end to tie 15-15 with Broad­way, and the All­sorts had a com­fort­able win at Den­ham Belles.
