VI­CIOUS Vik­ings at the Chiltern Open Air Mu­seum, New­land Park, Gore­lands Lane, Chal­font St Giles HP8 4AB.

Ni­fl­heim, Vik­ing war­riors of the Land of Ice and Mist, will take you back to a time of hero­ism and ad­ven­ture, where the edge of the world re­ceded and bound­aries were pushed to the far flung reaches of Burka and Bagh­dad.

Come and meet the Vik­ing war­riors, be shown their weapons and bat­tle gear, hear the sounds of the melee and wit­ness the Vik­ing vic­tory re­told in a saga of the bat­tle.

There will be demon­stra­tions of the fight­ing styles and tech­niques used by the Vik­ings along with dis­plays of weaponry and com­bat prow­ess.

You will even be able to pit your­selves against these fear­some war­riors – chil­dren un­der 10 only – in the ‘Kid­die Vike’ arena at 2pm.

The Vik­ing en­camp­ment will be set up for cam­paign with crafts, cook­ing and talks on weapons, ar­mour and Vik­ing life.

Come and see what it was re­ally like on a Vik­ing bat­tle cam­paign.

At noon and 3.30pm there is a fight and weapons dis­play.

THE Lit­tle Lan­guage Academy Sum­mer Hol­i­day Camp, from 10am un­til 2pm, with op­tional wrap­around care from 9am to 10am and 2pm un­til 3pm, at The Me­mo­rial Cen­tre, 8 East Com­mon, Ger­rards Cross SL9 7AD.

Each day the chil­dren will bake, do two fun arts and crafts projects, sing, play out­side, plus a spe­cial dif­fer­ent daily ac­tiv­ity in­clud­ing dance and drama work­shops and a pi­rates and princesses ad­ven­ture with Footie Bugs. Ex­pe­ri­enced staff who are DBS vet­ted and first aid trained.
