On the yel­low brick road to a tri­umph

SCHOOL chil­dren fol­lowed the yel­low brick road when they put on a pro­duc­tion. Pupils at St Joseph’s Catholic Pri­mary School, in Pri­ory Road, Chal­font St Peter, put on a pro­duc­tion of the Wiz­ard of Oz last week to their fam­ily and friends.

Re­hearsals and prepa­ra­tions have been tak­ing place in re­cent weeks to get ready for the big event, with the show be­ing per­formed on Wed­nes­day, July 15 and Thurs­day, July 16.

Au­di­ences watched the fa­mous story of Dorothy trav­el­ling to the land of Oz, mak­ing friends with the Scare­crow, Tin Man and Lion be­fore de­feat­ing the Wicked Witch of the West.

The play was per­formed by pupils in years five and six, with staff help­ing to pro­vide cos­tumes and make-up for the per­form­ing chil­dren.
