Belles’ feast of fun

A SCHOOL’S se­nior handbell team were re­warded for all of their hard work re­cently with a mains stage per­for­mance a huge vil­lage event.

The Malt­man’s Belles, the se­nior handbell team of Malt­man’s Green School, Ger­rards Cross, per­formed for the sec­ond year in a row at Chal­font St Peter’s an­nual Feast Day, held on Gold Hill Com­mon last month.

The sun shone as the girls played a se­lec­tion of well-known folk tunes and clas­si­cal tunes.

Miss Vi­enna Guy, head of mu­sic at the school, said: “The team is par­tic­u­larly grate­ful to Re­becca, Anna, San­jana and Katy Clifford for step­ping in at short no­tice to fill in the gaps made by a few reg­u­lar mem­bers un­able to at­tend.

“One mem­ber of the au­di­ence com­mented on how ‘slick’ their play­ing was, show­ing that all their hard work and con­cen­tra­tion pays off.

“A huge well done to the girls.”
