Amersham’s poor week
AMERSHAM Bowls club did not have much luck in the Chiltern & Thames League this week.
They were beaten 56-40 by Gerrards Cross and then were edged out 51-48 by Loudwater a few days later.
Sheila Barber, Ian Lee, Jim Saunders, Ken Rye, Margaret Sherlock and Howard Brown were all unfortunate to be on the losing sides though after strong performances.
There was some encouragement to be taken by a series of fine friendly performances, with Dave Edwards, Brian Drew and May Van Vuuren impressing against Stoke Poges.
The likes of Ian Attley, Diana Bassett and Neal Evison, along with Keith Leonard, Ian Lee Norman Wilson, Gayle Berrington and Kevin Dwyer, also shone in their fixtures.
