Classic motors at the common
OWNERS of classic cars have been busy cleaning and polishing their treasured motors.
It is all in readiness for the eighth annual Classics on the Common event, on Ley Hill Common, on Sunday, August 9, from 12pm to 4pm.
Weather-permitting, the event attracts around 150 cars dating from the 1940s to the 1980s.
There will also be a barbecue, organised by Ley Hill School Parent Teacher Association, cream teas by members of St George’s Church, in nearby Tylers Hill, and family fun and candy floss.
A replica steam traction engine will give rides for children and Ley Hill Cricket Club bar will be open.
Organiser Neil Lamond said: “Bring out your classic vehicle and invite friends. The event is now in its eighth year, and established as a favourite for many people. There will be plenty of space to stretch legs or picnic. We hope to see you there in the sun this summer!”
The event is free and there will be a bucket collection in support of the Bucks Air Ambulance and Ley Hill Village Hall charities.
