Trust a guide to de­liver an en­thralling talk

A VIL­LAGE ac­tion group was en­thralled by a Na­tional Trust Guide on Tues­day evening (July 21).

About 70 mem­bers of the Chal­font St Peter Vil­lage Older Per­sons Ac­tion Group ( VOPAG) at­tended a talk by Bernie Knill on the ‘House, History and Ben­jamin Dis­raeli’.

VOPAG chair­man Mike McDon­ald, who is tak­ing a sab­bat­i­cal this win­ter and will be hand­ing over the run­ning of the group to re­tired busi­ness­man Tony Of­ford, said: “The talk was at­tended by about 70 of the vil­lage el­derly and it was very well re­ceived.”

He added: “It was an amaz­ing and colour­ful talk, and it was in­ter­est­ing for peo­ple to know a lit­tle more about the Con­ser­va­tive party and ev­ery­body happy with a very speaker.”
