THE Chenies Velo Classique takes place on August 31st
The Chenies Velo Classique is a fantastic day out for anyone who appreciates the passion, elegance and heritage of cycling both past and present.
With three distances of sportive (100, 60 and 30 miles), based in and around the beautiful Chilterns, these fully supported rides will start and finish in the beautiful grounds of Chenies Manor and wind there way through the lanes and iconic climbs that make this area such a magnet for cyclists.
There will also be a 30 mile RETRO CLASSIQUE (for pre 1989 bikes) ridden in the style of Cyclings Golden eras – riders are asked to dress in suitable attire and enter into the retro inspired ‘spirit of racing’!
All routes will have the option to ride sections of the Chilterns very own ‘Strada Bianca’: these ancient chalk bridleways through beech lined woods will be fully sign posted for you to savour the delights of riding in the style of the legendary champions of past eras
With picture perfect routes, feed stations and mechanical support at all key points along the way, along with clear signage and downloadable mapping for each distance, you can rest assured you’ll get the very best ride possible.
All routes will return to the Manor with a warm welcome from the crowds enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the Chenies Velo Village.
The sportives are the flagship event of the day which is a celebration of all things cycling for the whole family.
Rider entries include access to the beautiful grounds & gardens of Chenies Manor, with its Country House feel why not tag a Champagne Pic-nic or Cream tea onto the end of your ride and enjoy a quintessentially British Bank Holiday.
