Vipar strikes at number one in charts
Rapper Mikar-The-Vipar’s latest single Flashing Lights has reached number one in the iTunes World Chart A BUCKS rapper has made history after his new single reached number one in the iTunes World Chart.
Michael Kamara, 23, from Chesham, whose stage name is MikarThe-Vipar, is celebrating after his latest single Flashing Lights, which came out on Friday, peaked at number one in the iTunes World Chart on Sunday.
It is even more of an achievement because it is believed he is the first Bucks artist to get a number one and because unsigned artists, such as Mikar, rarely enter the charts.
This is not the first time Mikar has had chart success. Earlier this year, his single Break of Dawn peaked at number seven in the iTunes World Chart.
The star’s debut single, Gimme Love, was released last summer and reached number 11.
The latest chart success follows on from Mikar performing a sold-out show in Gavleborg, in Sweden, last month.
Mikar, who attended Waterside School and Chiltern Hills Academy, has been in Sweden for the past month working on music projects and on Saturday he was interviewed by Sweden Radio P4.
Following his success, various music labels have approached Mikar to sign him, but he has not agreed to any yet.
