M40 hit with series of accidents
A SERIES of accidents have blighted the M40 during the last week.
An accident on the M40 between Beaconsfield and High Wycombe caused tailbacks yesterday (Wednesday) morning.
One lane was closed after the incident on the northbound stretch of the motorway between junction two, the A355, and junction three, the A40. Long queues on the A40 began at the Denham roundabout and stretched all the way into London.
On Tuesday, police and fire crews and the air ambulance were at the scene of an overturned car after an accident before 9am between junction 1a and junction two. One person had to be rescued from the vehicle.
On Saturday there were long delays after a lorry fire on the northbound carriageway between junctions three and four.
The incident caused congestion on the A40 and the A404 in addition to the motorway traffic.
