Air ambulance to make flying fair visit
Chopper to be highlight of charity event which will also raise money for farm venue
THERE will be plenty going on to entertain all ages this weekend when a farm hosts its popular charity event.
Hazeldene Farm, in Asheridge Road, Chesham, will host its eighth annual country fair on Sunday, from noon to 5pm, to raise funds for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.
There will be a host of activities on offer including a barbecue, art and craft stalls, a dog show, children’s rides, face painting, Pimm’s and beer, tea and cakes, ice cream, an air rifle range, petting farm, classic cars and bikes, sand art, metal detecting and much more.
As long as it is not called out, the air ambulance is expected to land at 1.30pm.
Owner of the farm Liz Bateman said: “I’m very much looking forward to it. We started running it in 2008, so we’ve been doing it a few years now and there’s lots going on with something for all ages.
“Hopefully we will raise quite a lot for the air ambulance.”
Chesham artist Diana Copeland has painted a picture of the air ambulance helicopter, which will be raffled on the day as a prize to raise funds for the charity. She is donating the picture with 80 per cent going to the air ambulance and 20 per cent to the farm. It will also be shown at the Rotary Club of Chesham’s Horse Show on Saturday, September 12.
A small print will also be on show at Domesco, in High Street. Domesco will also be selling raffle tickets, as will the Hydro Department at Amersham Hospital.
Artworks!, of which Mrs Copeland is a founding member, will also be holding an exhibition at the event with work on display and sale from a host of Chesham artists and craftspeople.
Entry to the country fair costs £3.50 and under16s go free.
