Re­furb com­plete for val­ued Post Of­fice

Sup­port for busi­ness once un­der clo­sure threat

CHAL­FONT Com­mon post of­fice has re­opened on fol­low­ing two and a half weeks of re­fur­bish­ment.

The post of­fice, which also houses a Spar mini su­per­mar­ket, had been closed for about a month af­ter de­lays in the re­fit.

Leader of Chiltern Dis­trict Coun­cil Iso­bel Darby and parish coun­cil chair­man Linda Smith were at the open­ing of the shop in Rick­mansworth Lane, Chal­font St Peter on Tues­day morn­ing (Septem­ber 1).

Aruna Soni, who owns shop with hus­band Dhi­ra­jlal, said the open­ing had gone very well.

She said that while it had taken longer than an­tic­i­pated, the shop needed the re­fur­bish­ment as it has been about 15 years since the last one.

And she said the re­sponse from the com­mu­nity has been great.
