Refurb complete for valued Post Office
Support for business once under closure threat
CHALFONT Common post office has reopened on following two and a half weeks of refurbishment.
The post office, which also houses a Spar mini supermarket, had been closed for about a month after delays in the refit.
Leader of Chiltern District Council Isobel Darby and parish council chairman Linda Smith were at the opening of the shop in Rickmansworth Lane, Chalfont St Peter on Tuesday morning (September 1).
Aruna Soni, who owns shop with husband Dhirajlal, said the opening had gone very well.
She said that while it had taken longer than anticipated, the shop needed the refurbishment as it has been about 15 years since the last one.
And she said the response from the community has been great.
She said: “It’s been very very good. People have been looking forward to seeing it. Every day they
