Volunteers needed for Alzheimer’s service
VOLUNTEERS are being sought to lend a hand to people suffering from Alzheimer’s in Beaconsfield.
The Alzheimer’s Society in the town is looking for volunteers to help set up the room it uses for its Singing in the Brain service.
The service, which is designed around the principles of music therapy and singing, provides social interaction in a safe and supportive environment for local people affected by dementia.
The society says that there are 1,578 people living with dementia in the Beaconsfield area and the charity is looking for local residents to set out the chairs and tables before the group starts on Friday mornings at the Fitzwilliams Centre, in Windsor End.
It is estimated that it would take no more than 15 minutes to lay out and clear away the room each time.
