Hundreds of rubber ducks will race their way along a river to raise cash for charity this weekend. Chesham Youth Club will hold its annual duck race on Saturday from 3pm. The race starts at the Town Bridge off Germain Street. It costs £1 per duck and the top prize is £100. St Mary’s Church, in Church Street, Chesham, is holding an open afternoon on Sunday, September 13 from 2pm to 5pm as part of the Heritage Open Days across England. There will be tours of the church, access to the belfry and the church registers will be open to peruse. New attractions will be demonstrations of the history shown by the tombstones and a look at the graffiti in the church. Tea and cakes will be available.
Chesham and District Natural History Society will host a talk this month. Steve Carter will give an illustrated talk called Birdwatching in the Colne Valley on Monday, September 14 at St Mary’s Church Rooms in Church Street on Monday, September 14.
