Great Wall trek in memory of dad
A WOMAN who admits that the Marylebone escalator in London is a challenge for her is hoping to raise £12,000 for a leading cancer charity by trekking the Great Wall of China in October.
Jo Swerling, who lives near Beaconsfield, is taking part in the challenge in memory of her father Graham who passed away on Christmas Eve 2013 following a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer two months earlier.
Mr Swerling was a local farmer who, along with his wife, farmed in Coleshill and Chalfont St Giles for 55 years.
Jo will be walking the wall for five days on October 17 along with 20 others, raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
She has already raised £8.5K at a barn dance that she organised held at the family farm in July and has been in training since April, joined a local gym and has been seen running up and down stairs whenever she can. Please visit www.justgiving.com/ joswerling for more information.
