New head­mas­ter takes helm at prep school

DAVENIES Prepara­tory School in Bea­cons­field wel­comed a new head­mas­ter for the start of the new aca­demic year.

Carl Ry­croft has been the Head­mas­ter of Barnard Castle Prepara­tory School for the last six years has a wealth of ex­pe­ri­ence in both the in­de­pen­dent and state sec­tor, as well as time work­ing with the Rugby Football Union as a youth de­vel­op­ment of­fi­cer.

He was the unan­i­mous choice of the Gov­ern­ing Body se­lec­tion panel, which said he has a pas­sion for lead­ing and teach­ing, energy and vi­sion, is pas­sion­ate about ed­u­ca­tion, and about nur­tur­ing and de­vel­op­ing chil­dren to reach their full po­ten­tial.

Mr Ry­croft said: “I am ab­so­lutely de­lighted to have been ap­pointed Head­mas­ter of Davenies.

“It is a won­der­ful school with a pos­i­tive learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment and a warm wel­com­ing at­mos­phere.

“I very much look for­ward to build­ing on the strong foun­da­tions that Craig Wat­son has laid over the last nine years, and lead­ing Davenies, with its com­mit­ted staff and happy, en­thu­si­as­tic pupils, to an ex­cit­ing fu­ture.”

Septem­ber also sees the Pre-Prep, Year 3 and Year 4 chil­dren move into a new state of the art build­ing at the Sta­tion Road site, aptly named the Ju­bilee Build­ing as this is also a year of cel­e­bra­tion for the school as it reaches its 75th an­niver­sary.

Davenies is a lead­ing boys’ prepara­tory day school, for boys from the ages of 4 to 13.
