New headmaster takes helm at prep school
DAVENIES Preparatory School in Beaconsfield welcomed a new headmaster for the start of the new academic year.
Carl Rycroft has been the Headmaster of Barnard Castle Preparatory School for the last six years has a wealth of experience in both the independent and state sector, as well as time working with the Rugby Football Union as a youth development officer.
He was the unanimous choice of the Governing Body selection panel, which said he has a passion for leading and teaching, energy and vision, is passionate about education, and about nurturing and developing children to reach their full potential.
Mr Rycroft said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed Headmaster of Davenies.
“It is a wonderful school with a positive learning environment and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
“I very much look forward to building on the strong foundations that Craig Watson has laid over the last nine years, and leading Davenies, with its committed staff and happy, enthusiastic pupils, to an exciting future.”
September also sees the Pre-Prep, Year 3 and Year 4 children move into a new state of the art building at the Station Road site, aptly named the Jubilee Building as this is also a year of celebration for the school as it reaches its 75th anniversary.

Davenies is a leading boys’ preparatory day school, for boys from the ages of 4 to 13.
