A SOLID win by top triple Allan Rumble, Roger Darbourne and Graeme Richards helped Chalfont St Giles Bowls Club to a 125-82 friendly win at Cippenham on Sunday.

This followed some juggling with the teams to accommodate their hosts, loaning them some of the visiting players.

This made up for a 71-47 loss at Court Park, in which the gap was only a few shots after 13 ends and Chalfont were winning on three rinks, but then it all went wrong.

With three of their rinks stuck on 13 for six ends and four ends, and 11 for five ends, respectively, they had collapsed to defeat by the time the game was abandoned with a couple of ends to go.

Poor weather also led to the postponment of the Jubilee Cup competition on the Bank Holiday, which it is hoped will be re-run on Tuesday, September 22. Before that, next weekend is the club’s finals weekend, with 32 members still involved in the various competitions.
