Here’s to church’s next 10 years
Celebration and barn dance for Rock’s decade
THE ROCK Church in Chalfont St Giles has been celebrating a decade of community involvement, culminating in a barn dance on Saturday and a special service of celebration on Sunday.
Reverend Thorpe said the weekend events went well and a combined total of about 100 people enjoyed
Ian themselves. He said: “It all went well. Everybody had a lovely time at the barn dance.
“We had a lot of people who had engagement with in the community who aren’t necessarily church goers.”
JOY: Rev Ian Thorpe takes part in a service to celebrate the 10th birthday of The Rock Church celebration service, he said: “We had a really good time with some of our older friends and people who had moved away, who came back to celebrate with us on Sunday. We had a lovely time.”
He added: “It involved listening to people’s stories, and how they had been impacted by us as a church.
“It was really encouraging how a smaller church has impacted people and always in a very positive way.”
He added: “There were various comments that came back from people about how they had gone away and they realised how precious their time with us was over the years.”
“We’re looking forward to the next 10 years,” he said.
