Village life is good as store is transformed by £130k makeover
Improvements at Olde Post House are popular
THE OLDE Post House in Chalfont St Giles has had £130,000 revamp to improve the service to villagers.
Sanjay Patel, 40, who took over the running of the store in March this year, said it had been about 35 years since the store last had a refurbishment.
Mr Patel, who travels to the shop from his home in Wembley, London, said the refurb took around one month to complete.
He said: “I want to give the customers better services and better entertainment.”
Mr Patel had been looking for a shop for about five or six years before he found the one in Chalfont St Giles.
He added: “It was my dream to buy a shop in the village and to make a nice village shop.”
The whole concept of the refurbishment, Mr Patel said, was to allow people who could not easily get to a supermarket to come in and do a week's shopping in his store. It's one of the top villages friendly.”
“People like it,” he said. “They said it's excellent. They say it is a completely new shop.”
Mr Patel, who admits he is ‘very new to the village' is full of praise for the friendly Chalfont St Giles community, that was one of the main attractions for him in buying the Post House.
