The Chesham District branch of Buddhist group, called Soka Gakkai International, held an introduction to Buddhism event at Chesham Town Hall on Friday, September 4.
About 40 people turned up to the event which saw general director of SGI-UK Robert Harrup speak at the event about ‘How to win in life?’ and he answered questions from the attendees.
Mr Harrup is often heard on Radio 2’s Pause for Thought.
One of the event’s organisers Phil Newman said: “We had 40 people turn up which was great.
“There were so many great questions [for Robert] that we ran overtime.
“At the heart of our philosophy is a concept known as ‘human revolution’, whereby the inner change sparked by Buddhist practice leads to courage, compassion and wisdom, fostering fulfilled individuals with a wish to contribute to creating a better world.”
