Stu­dents wave the flag for Queen’s reign

LONG­EST REIGN CEL­E­BRA­TIONS AT CH­EST­NUT LANE SCHOOL IN AMER­SHAM CHIL­DREN cel­e­brated the Queen's reign while learn­ing about Bri­tish history.

Pupils at Ch­est­nut Lane School in Amer­sham cel­e­brated the Queen be­com­ing Bri­tain's long­est reign­ing monarch on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 16.

School re­cep­tion­ist, Tina Hooker, said: “The chil­dren started the day with a school assem­bly where teach­ers dis­cussed the Queen's role, which in­cluded talk­ing about com­mon­wealth coun­tries and how Queen El­iz­a­beth served in World War II.

“The chil­dren were very ea­ger to learn how life had changed since the reign of Queen Vic­to­ria. The assem­bly con­cluded by wav­ing the Bri­tish Flag and singing in their best voice God Save the Queen.”

Dur­ing the day, chil­dren also made crowns and learned about Bri­tish history.
