£6m of prep school facilities revealed
Proposals include car park to ease congestion
A CHESHAM school has revealed its plans for a £6million revamp that it believes will benefit the whole community.
Chesham Preparatory School has announced its plans to improve and expand the school’s current facilities and existing buildings.
Proposals include a new state of the art swimming pool, new classrooms as well as a new dining hall.
The plans represent an opportunity for the school to increase its current educational offerings for both existing and future pupils.
The school, in Two Dells Lane, Orchard Leigh, is determined to ensure that the proposals provide the greatest possible benefit to the local community, which would contribute a £6million investment into Chesham.
The school is also putting forward an option to open up access to the sports facilities to the local community.
In addition, proposals include creation of two vehicle entrances to the the new the school as well as up to 55 new car parking spaces within the existing school grounds.
It is anticipated this will both ease congestion along Two Dells Lane and also create a safer pedestrian environment within the school grounds.
Chesham Preparatory School’s headteacher Mike Davies said: “Our plans to expand the facilities at Chesham Preparatory School will create a variety of new sporting and arts facilities, complementing the existing educational offer and extra-curricular activities at the school.
“We welcome the opportunity to discuss our plans with the local community, and look forward to meeting residents to present our plans and listen to their feedback on our proposals.”
Chesham Preparatory School, which was attended by Stephen Fry, is hosting two public exhibitions to display the plans on Friday (Sep 25) and Friday, October 9 between 4.30pm and 7pm.
