Sib­lings are the stars of cross coun­try show

Young brother and sis­ter both take gold at school se­ries

and Ge­orge Bed­doe of Gay­hurst in third, while the year four girls’ race was dom­i­nated by Frankie Bax­ter of St Mary’s, who won with a strong run up the hill ahead of Char­tridge’s Lesedi Nkoane and God­stowe’s Lucy Baker in sec­ond and third re­spec­tively.

In the year six boys’ race, a break­away group and a fast fin­ish re­sulted in a win for Matt Al­dred of Chal­font St Peter, ahead of Gate­way’s Cor­mac Nis­bet and Great Mis­senden’s Teague Ea­ton, while a char­ac­ter­is­ti­cally strong run by Ab­bie Hen­der­son of Ger­rards Cross clinched the year six girls’ race from Holly Hen­der­son of Ger­rards Cross and Scar­lett Lehneis of Ley Hill.

Team prizes were as fol­lows: Year three boys: 1. Ger­rards Cross; 2. The Bea­con; 3. Che­sham Prep Year three girls: 1. God­stowe; 2. Gay­hurst; 3. Che­sham Prep Year four boys: 1. Gay­hurst; 2. Chal­font St Peter; 3. Great Mis­senden Year four girls: 1. God­stowe; 2. Ger­rards Cross; 3. Great Mis­senden Year five boys: 1. Gate­way; 2. Elan­geni; 3. Che­sham Prep Year five girls: 1. Ger­rards Cross ; 2. Heather­ton House; 3. Chal­font St Peter Year six boys: 1. Gate­way; 2. The Bea­con; 3. Great Mis­senden Year six girls: 1. Ger­rards Cross; 2. God­stowe; 3. Gate­way

Around 500 chil­dren took part in the event, hosted by Chal­font St Peter CofE Academy and the Gate­way School. The next meet­ing is at Char­tridge Com­bined School on Novem­ber 21.

Alex and Mad­die Hughes both claimed gold medals
