Full steam ahead for day trip

THE CATHE­DRALS Ex­press steam train will be mak­ing its first visit to Ger­rards Cross this au­tu­mun as it chugs its way to War­wick and Stratford-upon-Avon for a day trip. On Sun­day Oc­to­ber 18 the train, which will be hauled by 61306 Mayflower – one of two sur­viv­ing B1 Class lo­co­mo­tives – will pull out of the sta­tion at ap­prox­i­mately 11:10am, giv­ing those on board the chance to en­joy Sun­day Lun­cheon.

The train will make its way through The Cotswolds to War­wick, its first stop.

Pas­sen­gers will also get the chance to visit Stratford-upon-Avon and its many at­trac­tions, in­clud­ing Shake­speare’s Birthplace, Anne Hath­away’s cot­tage and the Holy Trin­ity Church where Wil­liam Shake­speare is buried.

Af­ter vis­it­ing one of two fab­u­lous des­ti­na­tions, Mayflower will whisk pas­sen­gers back home, Take the op­por­tu­nity to visit War­wick Castle or Anne Hath­away’s Cot­tage on the Cathe­dral’s Ex­press, call­ing at Ger­rards Cross for the first time. with those in din­ing en­joy­ing High Tea, another tra­di­tion syn­ony­mous with the golden age of steam.”

For this Sun­day Lun­cheon Spe­cial on board The Cathe­drals Ex­press, pas­sen­gers can choose from four classes of travel rang­ing from £99 in Pre­mium Stan­dard through to the top class of Pull­man Style Din­ing of £239 per per­son.

Pas­sen­gers in Pull­man Style will en­joy a tra­di­tional three course Sun­day Lunch on the out­ward jour­ney and High Tea on their re­turn.
