Full steam ahead for day trip
THE CATHEDRALS Express steam train will be making its first visit to Gerrards Cross this autumun as it chugs its way to Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon for a day trip. On Sunday October 18 the train, which will be hauled by 61306 Mayflower – one of two surviving B1 Class locomotives – will pull out of the station at approximately 11:10am, giving those on board the chance to enjoy Sunday Luncheon.
The train will make its way through The Cotswolds to Warwick, its first stop.
Passengers will also get the chance to visit Stratford-upon-Avon and its many attractions, including Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s cottage and the Holy Trinity Church where William Shakespeare is buried.

After visiting one of two fabulous destinations, Mayflower will whisk passengers back home, Take the opportunity to visit Warwick Castle or Anne Hathaway’s Cottage on the Cathedral’s Express, calling at Gerrards Cross for the first time. with those in dining enjoying High Tea, another tradition synonymous with the golden age of steam.”
For this Sunday Luncheon Special on board The Cathedrals Express, passengers can choose from four classes of travel ranging from £99 in Premium Standard through to the top class of Pullman Style Dining of £239 per person.
Passengers in Pullman Style will enjoy a traditional three course Sunday Lunch on the outward journey and High Tea on their return.
