CROWNE OF FEATHERS
First-class luxury all round
HEADS were turned, not least by this striking peacock mask, as the Crowne Plaza in Gerrards Cross opened it's doors in spectacular fashion to celebrate a £20m refurbishment.
A GERRARDS Cross hotel which has been revamped and rebranded has officially opened its doors to the public.
The Crowne Plaza in Oxford Road, previously The Bellhouse, celebrated in style on Thursday, September 24 following its £20m refurbishment.
A number of local dignitaries including Mayor of Beaconsfield John Read, county, district and town councillors went along to the event along with 200 other guests and general manager David Jones.
Gerrards Cross Parish Council chairman Chris Brown, who was at the opening on Thursday, said: “It’s super, it really is nice to see.
“They have done a fantastic job. It’s a really good asset to the area.
“It’s really nice to have these facilities, and thanks very much for the hospitality. It was really nice and we really enjoyed ourselves. We hope to be back.”
He added: “It’s the sort of thing we need. It’s a good asset for the area.
“It’s super lovely, nicely done and I’m glad to see it has improved, and it’s good that people are investing in the area. It’s appreciated.”
Mayor of Beaconsfield John Read said: “It was very good, and I thought it was superb to see a firm investing quite so heavily in South Bucks.”
He added: “I thought it was great fun.”
Visitors enjoyed drinks and snacks, while looking at what the site has to offer, which includes 138 bedrooms, as well as a wave spa, sauna, steam room and swimming pool.
Mr Read said: “It was a really good, fun evening and a wealth of people from around the area were represented. There seemed to be quite a wide variety of people in and around Gerrards Cross.”
The hotel also features a gym, exercise suites and a host of fitness classes.
David Jones, general manager at the hotel said: “I am delighted to welcome all guests to experience our newly opened hotel, which we are incredibly proud of.
"Following extensive renovations, the Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross hotel is almost unrecognisable from it’s former self, The Bellhouse, and now offers everything guests could wish for from luxurious spa treatments to first-class dining.
“We are confident that the inauguration into the Crowne Plaza portfolio will place the hotel as a premier destination on the outskirts of London.”
